This is how normal clocks sound, mundane, boring analog clocks with hands and digits, like those found in every living room or office.
Such clocks are, of course, far below the level of a geek! A geek has completely different requirements for a timepiece: it must be technical, interesting, unusual, and fascinating... just geeky.
No clock meets these requirements better than the Time Machine.
The Time Machine combines ingenious technology with something very simple: marbles!
This is how it works:
The Time Machine shows the time through the position of a total of 26 marbles on 3 different ramps.
- There is one ramp for the current hour, one for the current 5-minute step, and a third that precisely determines the minute.
- Every minute, an arm lifts a marble from the reserve onto the top ramp, triggering a chain reaction that continuously displays the correct time.
- The time is read from the numbers on the ramps where the last marble lies.
- Additionally, the seconds are displayed at the top on a kind of turntable.
In the main picture, for example, it is currently 7:32, or 19:32.

The Time Machine is a captivating sensation for any room and will immediately draw the attention of your tech-interested visitors. However, you should keep it out of the bedroom—not only because it wouldn't be sufficiently showcased there, but also because the marbles don't move completely silently over the ramps—especially on the hour, when several marbles are set in motion, it gets quite lively on the ramps.
